The SMART LMI Project is designed to help enrich the work of both job seekers and careers practitioners by harnessing the potential of open data and new technology to add an innovative new solution to skills self-assessment. To do this the project has taken a user-driven approach, in order to make sure it meets the everyday needs of careers practitioners and their clients.
To this end, the project has developed a range of outputs:
Research Report
This research report has identified how LMI is used in digital tools across Europe. Of particular concerns within this report are the data sources used, the technical requirements surrounding the tools, how resources are future-proofed and the policy frameworks supporting these practices.


Smart LMI Web App
The Smart LMI Web App brings together different LMI data sources to allow users to access information on potential careers, the requirements involved and skills needed, as well as supporting them in their ability to find and apply for work.
CPD + Video Resources
In order to complement the upskilling of practitioners’ general skills, the project will develop a series of “How To” guidelines designed to help equip users in implementing and managing the app. The proejct will also develop will also
